GoPro Safety Tether
« on: October 15, 2012, 10:57:39 am »
I was a little nervous about losing the camera so I came up with a way to make myself feel a little better.

I tied a piece of 50 pound braided fishing line around the hinge pin then put a loop in the other end of the line big enough for the camera to fit through.  I looped the line around the chin guard of my helmet, put the camera through the loop in the line and mounted it.  Now if the camera comes off the helmet, it is still tethered to the helmet.  I feel better, if nothing else.

Did you mechanically attach the go pro clip mount to your helmet mount? That 3M adhesive is awesome but I only trust my surface prep so far... at least on a plastic surface.

It's not as bad as you would think. Piece of mind where you can see it.
That adhesive is bionic, its held up pretty well off road but I'm not hammering any whoop sections.
