Well, I
**** my reinforced cylinder and broke my case a few weeks ago. You can see pictures in my build thread.
My question is, was/is part of the magical HRD formula to lightening the crankshaft with drilled holes? During tear down this last weekend, I noticed that my crank has 4 1" holes drilled around the big end of the crank. No pictures right now, but I should get some when I split the case.
Can anybody confirm this procedure? Seems that if you lighten the crankshaft assembly, wouldn't there also be a procedure to lighten the countershaft balancer to keep the engines rotating mass 'smooth'?
