1988 Duncan national motor

I have a Duncan national motor that I took on its first long ride yesterday. I am running the national kit with a dyno port big volume pipe and vforce reeds. Being around two strokes my whole life the motor felt normal with tons of power. I let my younger cousin ride it who is a die hard 4 stoke guy and he said it felt like it was breaking up at a lower rpm. To me it seems like the 2 stoke chop before power band. Like crushing down the road with a load it feels super smooth. Lower rpms just putting its choppy. My opinion is he's not used to a big bore 2 stroke (aka mans quad).  Any thoughts?

Well opinions are like asoles, everybody's got one!

Could be the pipe/port combo where its not on the pipe and pulling as hard.

I'd agree with you, your asole cousin is dispensing advice from his knowledge base where he might not be so proficient.

Breaking up on the low end....

Tell him you need to get it on the pipe and twist the throttle !

Probably the pipe not matching the port work.

What is meant by "breaking up?"  To me, this sounds like a jetting issue.

That's why I said 4 stroke pilot needs to get it on the pipe/wind it out more

The last time a 4-stroke rider piloted my 500 they fouled the plug. I agree with Dez.
