Width of LT250r
« on: July 04, 2014, 07:29:53 pm »
Since I recently picked up my 87 LT250r, I have been noticing some things that seem a little different.. I am in the process of crawling all over this thing making sure its sound.  In doing so, I found that my LT seems a little wider than most.  I am not sure if the rear axle is stock or aftermarket.  It still has the 5 stud spindles, but looks a little too chromed for stock.  If the rear rims are flipped, they did a good job covering the valve stem hole up.

The front seems wide too.  The front rims appear to be flipped.

Is there any advantages/disadvantages to being really wide like this?  Does the flipping of the rims in the front put alot of stress on the front end components?  I noticed the camber off.  If I do the camber mod, and continue to use the flipped rims, would this put even more stress on the ball joints, etc?

ball joints should be very close to rim, the further away the more stress you will put on the ball joints.
there are a few free mods you can do to the front end to help with bump steer and camber

try search bar for = bump steer
