Title: clutch still transmitting power when pulled in

Hey guys, my clutch wont disengage enough when pulled in.  I have read the previous posts about the .020 shim and here is where im at.  I took out the spacer and it measures 27.01mm long.  I bought a new spacer on ebay and it measures the exact same, so I don't there has been any crushing that motorgeek previously mentioned was the culprit.  I have a new clutch cable as well.  My question is, do you guys think there is any harm in putting in an .020 spacer to help the issue, or do you think the clutch will slip?  Thanks in advance!

Is your clutch basket got grooves worn in it

No i filed them down. i also checked all of the plate thicknesses and the spring lengths, everything looks good.

Is the small bearing the "button" rides on between the clutch basket and toothed piece the clutch lever shaft pulls in good shape??? I had one that went so bad they actually wore into the stock clutch basket not allowing it to full disengage....Especially just after starting it would creep with the clutch pulled in.

You need to take the play outta 14 and 15 in the zilla clutch diagram.

how do you do that Badmoon ?

Recently had to pull the cover off  and the clutch release rack (14) had a lot of play on mine as well. As far as I can tell it just sits in the center hole of the pressure plate. Ánything I am missing here ?

First make sure you have the little bearing #16 on #14. Line the teeth of 14 and 15 up. Then turn #15 till it pulls 14/16 tight against the back of #10. Put all your bolts back in make sure the slack is taken out of 15 still and put your clutch arm back on in the proper spot. If you don't take the slack all out, it will not let the clutch fully disengage. Even a tooth of slack will make it malfunction. The parts wear also and this has to be checked occasionnally if you start having that problem. Hope this solves your problem.

will check accordingly but as long as it pulls it should be ok right ? Just dont want to take of the cover no more, at least not again. That thing was sitting there for the last 10 years or so. Let me ride and open it up when Imma do a oil change ;)

If it's not tight, the clutch will not disengage fully. Just pull the clutch arm off and turn 15 till its tight then re index clutch arm and you should be good. 15 shouldn't turn to far to get the slack out, but it is important.
