Title: Led headlight
Post by: Throttle Therapy on February 18, 2017, 07:07:55 am
Is anyone using a led headlight on a 230s quadsport?   If so how do you like it ?  I have an 86 . From what the manual says the lighting coil is only 40 or 45 watts.  I am looking at using a headlight bucket from a quadracer so i can use a h-4  but i dont believe the stock lighting coil will push a 55 watt halogen without burning out if it lights it at all.

Don't bother with halogen, LED's are the way to go.
It should run a small 4-6 LED light no problem, just don't push the watt limit.
There are several in the 15-30W range that should put out plenty of lumens for 230 speeds.
They light up fine when you're moving.
You may or may not see flicker at idle, just depends on how low your RPM is set.

Mounting them is something that you'll probably have to figure out yourself, however...
