I'd love to help ya'll, maybe one day when I'm retired but right now with wife, girlfriend on the side, 2 kids, and 50 hr. week job I hardly have time to do anything for myself. [|] Here's his card, maybe you can just UPS it to him. But I'm sure you can find someone in your neck of the woods to do this.

I just recently had my FMF pipe rechromed at Pacific Plating in San Diego. Which is the place Duncan Racing uses to have there pipes chromed. Like the previous reply in this thread already stated. Funny thing is - is I tried to buy a New shiney chromed FMF pipe from FMF and I did not fit my '88. The flange would not line up with the three studs. So I used my old flange (which fits perfect) and then tried to mount the new pipe. And that did not fit either!! I tried calling FMF and just got a bunch of useless talk. So I decided to have my old "Don Emler" edition FMF pipe rechromed. I called Pacific Plating at 11 P.M. on a Sunday night just to see if the phone number was good and he answered!! He get's his calls directed to his cell. He was a really nice guy and told me to bring it down. I didn't ask a lot of questions about triple plating and the such. He just asked me about chrome or nickel. Originally it was nickel but we agreed on chrome. As you all know chroming is highly toxic and strictly regulated. I didn't ask but I think he sends his parts to Tijuana, Mexico to have them chromed. No rules down there, Lol. I was more then happy with my results and the big surprise was that he removed a small dent that was on the front of the pipe. I hadn't asked him to do that but was delighted that they took it upon themselves to do so. I'll defititely go back to have more work done!!! Oh! And the final price was $80 bucks cash!!
I forgot to take a "before" picture so I added an old picture when the pipe was still on the machine...

The better the prep work the better the finished product will be. I need my pipe rechromed. It looked good till it got hot a few times then....it wasn't lookin so good in a few spots. =(
-
I randomly called places in San Diego, called the person that does work for Duncan racing. Triple plated $125 they do the prep
-
chrome goes by sq inches and prep time. If they come in under 200 for a pipe thats an awsome price.
-
$125-150 to triple plate a 2stroke expansion chamber pipe, they prep the pipe before chroming. Is that a decent price?
-
Anybody know of any good guys for show chrome on the west coast, unless something breaks, next summer it just might be time to chrome tankzilla
-
Just make sure that that they confirm that they "Triple Dipped" Show Chrome John
-
175 to show chrome a pipe? HELL YEA!
-
yes it is, he tried to sell me on the nickle, but i told him i wanted
chrome. he said most guys that get it done go with nickle. but this
is going on my chrome bike and i dont want the yellow look that you
get from nickle. i didnt ask on the nickle pricing.

-
John, let me know if you get a price from them... interested in this also and what they charge for a pipe....
-
thanks q2w, your the 2nd guy that told me about them.
i am gonna have to check them out. thanks
-
yea, never let just any chrome shop do the work... Been burned by this before.
I think Chromemasters in Tennessee has a good reputation.
-
thats just it, i dont want any chrome shop. i want someone that good
and knows what they are doing, i dont want chrome peeling off in a few years.
-
Any chrome shop should be able to do this.
-
