It doesn't just let the engine rev higher, it accesses another tune pre-programmed into the ECU (like a switch) that adds more fuel to the combustion chamber due to the increase in air flow and less restrictive exhaust. The "accessible" tune probably has a higher spark timing as well along with other little tidbits.

I don't need more fuel, machines are tuned for sea level, I am at approximately 4250'. If anything I need it to run leaner than normal, for example:

My LT250R is jetted from the factory with a 45 pilot, needle on 3rd clip, a 210 main jet and air screw 1.5 turns. I run a 45 pilot, needle on 2nd clip, a 195 main jet and air screw almost 1.75 turns out to compensate.

Well, I ended up disconnecting the battery, then unplugging the Cherry Bomb, and reconnecting the battery. Hopefully this is good to go.

It's a plug in that let's the ignition rev a lot higher. Must have item imo. Google has pics.

Not to be confused with the Answer Roost Boost. The Cherry Bomb actually works on the LTR.

When I got my ltr450 I rode it without the cherry bomb... Then installed one, I wouldn't ride it without one after that! Increased rev ceiling, way more power... Wheelied a lot easier. I never removed it so I don't know how to reset it to stock.

IIRC there was a plug (similar to a child resistant safety plug for wall outlets) that went into the cherry bomb plug in when it wasn't installed in the wiring harness.

I just bought this 07 LT-R450 and of course the previous owner removed the sparky, air box lid and had a Cherry-Bomb installed. The races I participate in require a sparky, and sometimes I ride in mud/water. Is there anything special to removing the Cherry-Bomb when I put the sparky and lid back on?

Do I need to disconnect the battery, then remove the Cherry-Bomb so that the ECU resets back to stock tune?
