So the washers would have to made out of 7075 aluminum then?
Carl are the washers used for Thrust or only as spacers to center the rod end in the piston?
-
Those thrust washers will fail and f your engine up. They are not made to withstand the type of load for a wrist pin there only good in compression against the rollers. Stick with the billet aluminum washers.
Have you ever had to replace a set because of wear?
-
Dez you would use some fabricated Alum washers, I don't know who is making them now. My self I am liking the idea of using Metric Thrust bearing washers instead, 31mm ID x 18mm OD x 1mm with stackable 1mm shims washers.
With the gab being increase from OEM width of 22mm to RM bearing width 18mm, I am wondering if these would work? OEM thrust washers are 2mm wide with a 1mm instep.
-
I'm doing a top end soon. What washers are needed to use the rm bearing?
-
99 RM250 but they used the same bearing for many years. suzuki part number is 09263-18016 and you are correct on the size it is 18x23x22
-
Doing some measurements, and does anyone know the width of the RM Wrist Pin bearing and Year that is used?
18x23x22 mm does this sound right?
