Yep, the fence runs the whole way thru Buttercup.  You can follow the road (if the border patrol doesn't stop you) all the way to the border to the east and walk thru if you want.

No more trips to Mex, from what I've heard there is a huge steel fence just south of the 8.

The only 'legal' way from Gordon's to Glamis is running down sand highway.  Easy, but boring.  Done that lots of times running from either Gecko Loop or Wash 15 down to Gordon's/Duners Diner!  Yum, Yum, Breakfast Bowl or the Super Bowl.  Can't wait, I'm sure we'll make a run during our Thanksgiving week trip!

I'm not sure on riding from Gordons Well to Glamis, but I don't think you can ride into Algodones anymore. 9-11 changed alot of things. But lot's of people that camp at Grays Well & Gordons Well still drive there.

Its been awhile since I've ridden from 5 mile Drop to Glamis. I kinda forgot the way since '86, but I remember crossing the canal and about a hour ride... Is it still open or is that now closed ?

I remember being at buttercup and riding down the canal road to algodones, riding across the border and getting tacos & getting our boots shined.  :)) The last time we had to leave our bikes at the border crossing & walk across '88.
