On the 89 w/fmf, start about 430 and back it off till it revs out clean. Personally the stock Mikuni carb bored is a much better carb than keihin or lectron carbs.

im building an 87 as well , so i was thinking with the smaller reed block on the 89 i would have more grunt or torque and the 87 has the biggger reed it would give me more topend..... am i on the right track ? so i wanna set the 89 up as more a woods machine and  the 87 more a duner or am i mixed up here ?  im running the stock carb for now on the 89 and i think im running the fmf   and i need to know the jet specs with open lid k&n  stock motor
