I would just start fresh and buy a new Mikuni TM38 flatslide and convert to the proper jetting specs of 88 thru 90 models.  You can buy them new for around $120-150.

I am in need of a 43b10 or 43b20 carb for a 1988 LT500R. Please let me know what you have and how much you are asking.
