Let us know how it compares to the small reed you were running. Will you get a similar port? If the pipe stays the same, it should be a interesting comparison.

Interesting..... I would not mind trying to dune a built 87 top end on my quad!

Well the theory going around for years has been that the larger 87 is capable of producing larger horsepower numbers and the smaller 88 and up produces better torque numbers.

Did any of the magazines back in the day ever dyno a stock 87 Big Reed Motor vs. the 88 Plus Small Reed 500 Motors?
Stock vs. Stock - I am curious to see what a HP and TQ curve would look like on each motor. What was the reason Suzuki went to the smaller intake on the 500? Did they need to tame it down? Did they or the public feel the large reed motor was lacking somewhere in the powerband? I am just curious - suzukiquadracerhq
