I think my cdi is bad but I'm not sure and I don't want to buy one if I don't have to. Any one know how many volts the stator should put off in a kick to the cdi? Then the volts from cdi to coil
You must use a peak voltage tester or an oscilloscope to perform the following test.
The voltage to the CDI box from the source coil should be at least 100 volts when cranking it over at an RPM generated by the kick starter. The voltage from the CDI box to the ignition coil while the coil is connected to the CDI box should be at least 100 volts when cranking it over at an RPM generated by the kick starter.
The voltage from the pulser (pickup the senses the bump on the outside of the flywheel) to the CDI box should be at least 1 volt when cranking it over at an RPM generated by the kick starter.

for the stator:
Black/Red to Black/White= 375 ohms
Blue to Black/White= 120 ohms
I'll have to check my manual for the cdi limits.
Typically the stator is the issue though.
