Ok thanks I bought stock OEM bearings and one side has a noticeably bigger lip which has numbers stamped on it maybe there's a difference between OEM and aftermarket but I did manage to talk to a  mechanic and he said the numbers almost always go to the outside for OEM

I did mine a few months ago and I don't remember there being a difference between one end or the other. As long as both ends of the bearing have a lip on them you can tap them in with a socket and don't have to worry about damaging the needle bearings or having them fall out.
