Title: Set bump to pulse dot timing location?
Post by: 4-tracker on March 31, 2016, 08:10:48 am
Brought this over from lt500r engine discussions, where I had posted it under the wrong category.  Hope this could offer better results concerning my question since it has to do with electrical.
I'm putting new stator in and have no visible marks on stator to line it up to the mark on case. Trying to use as a guide the flywheel bump and at TDC.  I have my old stock stator to compare to. I have the case mark  at the center over oval shaped mounting hole.
Question: To more accurately set that mark can it be done by locating flywheel bump to pulse coil magnet dot to where it lines up on flywheel bump? Question is it at start/middle/or end of bump? while turning flywheel across pulse dot. Read somewhere this can also set timing if mark on stator is missing?
Trying to do everything by the book, question is where is this darn book? Not in the manual lol
You guys should write your own book and make some dollars! Call it the Zilla Bible 87-90. Or Everything from A -Z'ILLA lol
   I'de be your first customer!!
