I'm in the process of rebuilding a 1985 LT250R. The reworked crank arrived last week so I proceeded with the crank install this weekend per the manual. I had already installed the left side crank bearing and seal so all I had to do was pull it in. So with the crank pulled in all the way on the left side and the seal installed flush with the seal bore the taper on the shaft barely touches the crank seal on one lip. So I'm thinking that maybe I don't have the main bearing seated all the way in the bearing pocket so I took everything back apart and measured with a dial caliper and its all good. So I guess I need to seat the left side seal farther in the case then flush? No were in the manual does it mention how far to install this seal. Anyone ever run into this issue?
