Didn't get this quad, it ended up being 4 stroke. Sorry to waste all of your time

Yah like motoman said that chain roller on the frame is important to have here. but if you do have a lt250s quad sport that is a 4 stroke and has a timing chain. Post a few pictures so we can get a idea of your situation.

the lt250r is a 2stroke engine so there is no timing chain in the engine. if the drive wheels need a chain tensioner  it is the plate at the tail end of the swingarm with two bolts faceing the rear. you should see it missing in the picture as a hole measuring about 3" by 5".

how is the engine?

There is the chain roller thing by the front of the swing arm?  Is that what you're talking about?

Possibly a LT250S with a timing chain tensioner?

Looking to buy a 1989 lt250r but it needs a chain tensioner.  I assume this refers to the timing chain tensioner not a drive chain tensioner.  But I can't find any parts? Can someone point me in the direction of a chain tensioner.  Ebay only has them for lt250ef
