Its not because the cable is short ,But the cable covering is to long for that make of carby.
-
Have struck same issue ,you have to cut some of the outer cable cover on the carby end quick fix .

Oh, sorry I didn't read your first post properly
-
should i just skip the whole deal and order a billet thumb throttle or does anyone knownwhat cable to use ... i assume there is a cable because duncan used these carbs for years with stock thumb throttle...
-
Because I'm cheap I always mill out the thumb throttle casing to increase the length of pull of the cable but it means that you end up with a big stupid throw on your throttle. A good option is probably a thumb throttle off a Honda 450r or 250r because they have a levering mechanism inside which will pull a long slide without a huge amount of throw.

im trying to retain my stock thumb throttle but when i try to attach the PJ 41.5mm carb the cable is so short the slide is a long ways from closing .... anyone have this issue before me and whats the best way to solve my problem... and when i buy a new aftermarket thumb throttle assembly will i have the same issue all over again.
thanks for the help
