Thanks!  It was pretty rough when I found it.  I looked all over the bumper and can't find any identifying marks.  It was on the Quad when I bought it.

To El Diablo, I worked at West Virginia University.....now I work in Southern West Virginia.

hope you get the issue resolved.

that's a very nice looking zilla you have there.

I love that front bumper, I'd love to find one like that...any idea what it's called or who sells it ?  -->

Thanks for the welcome.  Wish I'd have found this forum last year when I started working on this thing, it would've made life easier.  For the heck of it I placed a washer with the rack and needle bearing just to see if I shortened the length of the rack if that would help.  The clutch feels normal ( I didn't want to actually run it with a foreign washer in there).  I ordered a new needle bearing and a new rack and I think I'm going to mark the length that washer took off and shorten the current rack and try it.  I can keep shortening it till it works correctly.  If I mess it up (which is totally possible) I'll have a new rack to use.

Almost sounds like weak springs or wrong springs or even maybe the arm is either not tight to the shaft or maybe the arm is a spline or two off? I'm not a clutch expert but I have seen these issues pop up a few times before.

BTW, Welcome to the best Quadracer based forum on the web.
Where are you a flight nurse at?

<1>I have an '87 Quadzilla that I've somewhat rebuilt since last winter.  I've noticed that since I've had it when I pull the clutch all the way in it still wants to pull just a little (enough to make it hard to hit neutral sitting still).  Seems to shift fine up and down unless its under hard power acceleration between 2-3 and then if you back off just a bit it goes on fine.  It just seems like the  clutch need a  little further pull to disengage but I've adjusted it every way I can come up with and it doesn't help.   I took the clutch cover off and it seems like the rack could be hitting the cover itself, not letting it pull the clutch far enough to disengage.   Is this possible and if so what do I do to fix it.  Anyone??
