When ever I assembly an engine, I put assembly lube on all parts. Bearings, cylinder wall, anything that has moving parts and contact something. Don't put a lot, just a dab will go a long way.

X2 on this, I have a hair dye applicator bottle of 927 with a small tip that I put on/in all the top end stuff, rod bearings, piston, cylinder, etc.

As soon as your gas enters the engine, you should have oil going in there. That is if you premixed your gas.

Curiosity about firing up engine after top end rebuild & if the bearings & all oil passages being dry or not dry due to sitting,  Is it possible to prelube engine before start up? Or not due to only top end being off & oil is still in bearings? How quick will oil pump push oil thru the engine at start up? Thanks for helping!
