Make sure the inner basket will spin freely with the nut tight and the plates removed.

I put springs from the 85lt250 and now my clutch is hanging up on me some times it breaks free any ideas
Check to make sure the outer hub is seated correctly, sometimes the recesses where the spring bolts go get hung up and the outer hub does not seat 100% of the way down.
I'd also make sure that the springs are seated squarely. Sometime when compressing them they get off center and prematurely compress making you think you've done the job right but you're really coming up short.

could also be a groove inner hub.
This is a grooved basket (not that bad)
