Let me clear this up, I ordered A arms for a 87, the arms I received were for an 87, the issue I had was from ordering an 87 A arm rebuild kit, upper and lower stock, the difference was the upper A arms had the 1 piece tube but was a smaller diameter and used the same bearings as the lower A arms instead of larger bearings that the OEM uses so the only parts usable out of the stock upper rebuild kit was the long inner race tubes, bearings and seals were too large O.D. If your inner race tube is good buy a 88 kit for upper and lower A arms. If inner race tube is rusted/pitted you may have to buy the 87 upper kit for just those, unless you find a source for just the inner race tubes, the upper kit was $87. Lee

So other than installing a bearing kit for the 88-90 arms in theupper a-arm you didn't have to do any other fab work if I read the post right. That really seems quite minor just my 2 cents.

I am aware of the difference just surprised you need to mod after spending the cash.

Yes 87's have different upper a-arms. You need to specify which you want. Tyler may not have a jig for the 87 uppers.

So after you buy the a arms you need to do this extra fabrication?

If you have an 87 Quadzilla and ordering aftermarket A arms the upper A arm bearing OD is different from the lower arms, the lower A arm bearing OD is approx. .944" as are upper AND lower in the 88 - 90 models. The 87 upper A arm bearing OD is approx. 1.023". The A arms I bought were for an 87, prepping for new bearings discovered the upper bearings were too large OD, AND .... the A arm bearing tube is too small diameter to machine out for the bearings. What I discovered was the upper arm inner race/tube fits the lower bearing so you need an extra set of 4 lower bearings for the upper A arms. I hope this helps others as I kinda freaked as I already base and top powder coated the arms. Lee
