That I do not know. You raised a good point, I'll have to check out on the web on which sealant works best with lots of contact with petroleum products

On the motor I just took apart they had the RTV between the flange and the cylinder, seemed to work pretty well, didn't have any leaks. Just a question for my knowledge, what if one were to use Threebond since RTV will break down when in contact with gasoline. Is threebond resistant to the high temp as well?

Don't worry too much about the head stay mounts.

Well, just looked at it and realized I still have the old gasket. Oh well, I have a spare now. Am I supposed to put that black rtv crap between the flange and cylinder? Oh, I also realized that I'm missing the top engine mounts. Is it crucial that I have them?

If you can get it out with out damage, keep it for a spare.

Heh, too late, I already ordered it. Last I looked, it doesn't appear to have anything like that in the cylinder. I could be wrong since I now know what's supposed to be between the flange and cylinder. I had a exhaust leak because the bottom nut on the flange wasn't screwed in all the way on the stud. I'll check it out this weekend, if there is a gasket in there, I'll just go ahead and replace it anyways

Are you sure it's not in there sometime they stick in top end. They are recessed in the top end exhaust port.

If motorsport or partzilla do not have them also check out bikebandit.com or mrcycles.com this is where I get most of my OEM parts.
And double on that RTV silicone, great stuff to keep handy.

It has a crush ring, and then use plenty of high temp rtv.

Also have more pics to show where I'm at. I got the spindles painted(my dog Ruby), head pipe cleaned up(it was pretty rusty), a-arms waiting to be painted, and what the front section of the frame looks like now.

Alright, I've got all my parts to rebuild the front suspension. You wouldn't believe how the previous owner neglected the a-arms, the ball-joints were all jacked up, and needle-bearings were completely obliterated. Won't be long til I repaint the arms and spindles, gonna go with black because I plan on repainting the frame black someday. I have all new ball-joints, Helm bushings, and camber kit, just gotta do some work on the front shocks. I was looking around at the other members' bikes and noticed that my frame has had some gussets welded on to it. I'll take some pics to show what I'm talking about because I wonder if these gussets are actually on the critical areas of the frame. The front of the frame is pretty ratty, so even if I get my front suspension all fixed, I'm still gonna have to do some touching up on the frame before I start bolting everything back together. So, in other words....next weekend she'll have the front wheels back on. Dang 2nd shift :(
