Damn, thats a pretty frame. The gusseting is a good idea. and I plan on getting mine done this month hopefully, depending on the motor and funds, I just fire up the torpedo heater to get things done haha I wish there was places like that to ride here. its all just improvised abandoned quarries or whatever works that turn into common riding spots. I thought about going to a meet that gets set up on a site like this in the US, they always sound better

Silver lk on Memorial Day is an absolute madhouse!! You will see a lot of sweet machines but it is so packed!! You will have to wait in a huge line the day before to get parking vouchers to park a trailer and you may not get one. my advice is bring quad in the back of a pick up truck so you can drive in the dunes with quad in the bed and not worry about parking a trailer.

The powder cost me 175.00 for everything. Frame bumper grab bar heel gaurds footpegs headlight cage steering stem shock springs brake pedal and maybe some other stuff I forget. I also have tons of money in parts. Mainly because I needed a new frame, front shocks, rear shock. I am replacing every bearing and bushing on the quad. But in the end it will be basically better than new. I am in no rush at all. I live in central wisconsin so our weather now is really cold, I think u were in Canada, I'm sure your dealing with the weather also. The bikes maiden voyage will be to silver lake dunes Memorial Day, she will stay warm in my basement until then.

How much did the powder coating run? Ill keep the frame in mind for mine, maybe next year ill take it down again and do what you're doing. For now ive got so much money in parts and stuff right now i just wanna get it together haha im getting my buddy to sand blast everything hopefully this week and i can paint it and start putting it back together and get some pics. Motor is still all apart too.

That's awesome! Good score. Yah mine is going well. Everything is back from powdercoat and almost all together. I need to rebuild the works and get some bearings and it will be done. I have a big post on everything 2 stroke on frame gusseting. When I first got it the frame was bent and it handled like ****. I got another frame and gusseted the crap out of it. The 92 frames are a lot stronger than previous years but the front end still has some weak spots.

Oh yea the guy that sold me this quad had no idea what he had, it also has elka shocks on it and some bolt on mods for the engine (reeds, pipe, filter, etc) and he never mentioned any of it when I asked if it had mods. I knew it was burning tranny oil but whatever, at least now the motor is essentially fresh after I get done all the seals and gaskets and probably rings and a hone. I wasn't expecting this rear end was anything special, I thought it was just a '86 swinger and stock axle/carrier or something but hey ill take it haha, I will post a build thread when I'm done and just show the timeline of everything I did. I hope yours goes well and gets done soon too

Nice score on that swingarm. I noticed you are in the process of building up a 92, I am as well. And I only wish mine came with an aftermarket swingarm. Not that the stock one is bad but who doesn't like aftermarket stuff.

I can't believe how easy this all came apart compared to the rear end in my old yamaha blaster.

That's because somebody greased it.

Ok so now we gotta name this axle and the carrier too if that matters, I can't believe how easy this all came apart compared to the rear end in my old yamaha blaster. Got a pic of the removed axle, the carrier, and the lock nut

It's a laeger. I sold one identical to it. That doesn't look like a stock axle. C an you
get a pic of the lock nut after you clean the grease off.

Ok thanks man! Ill try to get it apart later and check back on how it goes, i thought it might be a laeger but how could i tell that for sure without the label?

It looks like a jp or Laeger swingarm. Remove the lock nut on the sprocket side , slip out the axle remove the clip next to the brake caliper bracket , loosen up the pinch tube bolts and slide out the carrier.

Hey guys! I am in the middle of rebuilding my 1992 250r, this looks like the place for help. I cannot seem to figure what this swing arm is. I'm sure someone here knows! My follow up question is how would I get the swingarm off the carrier so I can sand blast it and repaint it? I can't tell whats supposed to come apart here... thanks!

Pic there VVV
