Title: Re: engine case inserts for swing arm bolt missing?
Post by: SuperNutt on December 08, 2014, 07:16:56 pm
I have another case here but it is still useable.  I will see if I can come up with a junk case and cut one out. That is a good idea.  A washer would probably work in a pinch too.  I might be able to make something like that if I had to.. Thanks for the replys..

Find a junk case and cut it out with a dremel. That's what I had to do

Just put a big washer on it. :)
Or send me the cases and I will.

So basically this case half is junk then?  Or can someone maybe make a bushing for it?

I tried to get one out of a case I have laying around.  I warmed up the case on the wood stove and still couldnt budge the insert.  So I gave up.  I will have to figure something else out as the case that I want to use is the one that is missing the insert.  I tried a swing arm pivot bushing and that didn't fit.  SO if anyone has one laying around, let me know. I sure could use one....

I don't believe they're available form Suzuki...you're going to have to have some made.

All the cases have a cast in piece for the swingarm to ride in.  Sometimes they come loose and come out.

I think those are home made.

From the looks of it someone machined the cases and put swing arm spacer in there.

If I'm right they look like part #6 on the swing arm fiche.

Lets see some pictures of the actual bushing and get some dimensions to confirm those are it.

Where can I find these engine case bushings for the swing arm bolt?  I don't see them listed on the suzuki parts diagram.  Some of my engine cases have them in them and some do not?  Any help or ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.  (http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad218/bansoutty8/Forum%20pics/IMG_3056_zps6057e701.jpg) (http://s937.photobucket.com/user/bansoutty8/media/Forum%20pics/IMG_3056_zps6057e701.jpg.html)
