Will LTR450 shocks work with no mods?

Yeah I picked up this set for $160.00 were in good shape, still needed to have them serviced $80.00, I had a buttload of work springs to set up fro my weight and had them powder coated (Front and Rear ) springs to OEM yellow $50.00, again this is a simple up grade, but these shocks are not valved for the LT500, yes they will work, but work even better correctly valved and the correct springs. Again hit Jason up for some Elkas fronts for less than $400.

Thanks for the info guys. Buckeye thanks for the link. I might pick those up. I'm guessing triple or dual rate refers to the number of seperate springs on one shock.

I agree the rear shock is a good unit...my quad actually handles pretty good on the trails and old fire roads but theres always room for improvement....I cant wait to get it back together and terrorize  the forest.  ;)

I've got banshee works shocks on mine, little grinding on the mounting bushings and they bolted right up. Scored these for $200 they pop up on eBay for around this price all the time. They're worlds better then the stock zilla shocks. Mine are triple rates but here's a nice set of dual rates for $160.

Hot Set up that still works is using Banshee Work Shocks (14.500" eyelet to eyelet), requires some Bushing work and they work fine, OEM shocks are 14.375" and that shock looks like a works shock.
FYI the rear shock is still a great shock and parts are available and can be re valved.

It's been erroneously reported in various magazines and forums over the years that no OEM front shocks were rebuildable until some of the newer machines came out years after the LT's. No one remembers or realizes that the zilla shocks were rebuildable all the way around. Those machines were way ahead of their time.

It looks like an oem zilla front shock to me. They are rebuildable.  I got a price to have mine rebuilt by a member on here..can't remember who at this moment.  But I decided to save up for aftermarket.

I thought the front shocks on LT's were not rebuildable. My shocks have a PEP sticker on them. Do you guys think they have been revalved or rebuilt? Or someone just put a sticker on them? They seem to work really good with the preload at 2/3 and the clicker on #3, soaking up roots, rocks and ruts.
