Title: Re: Banshee Hub Swap to LT Axle

I've been extremely happy with my Geforce hubs.  Have held up to a lot abuse in the sand dunes.

With the extended hubs, i was able to go back to stock axle and get rid of that pig durablue axle.  saved me over 10lbs.

These are what I am running on my 250. So far I'm pretty happy with them. At first I didn't like the extended hub idea but they feel very solid. I just make sure to check them before every ride and periodically during long rides.

Hi does any one know if the Honda trx 300 hubs fit on a LT500 1989 and if it would add some extra width to the back?

thanks

They dont.

Ltr450 stock hubs fit and add about 1/2" to width.

I bought the geforce extended hubs and it adds 1 1/2".  z400, dvx400, kfx400, ltr450 all fit all years zillas.

Finally got the axle out today those big ass nuts that hold the collar for the sprocket mount were a beeeeotch hadda hit them wit the torch for a good 10 mins n use a big pipe wrech with a peice of tubing for more leverage and had to stand on it to get it to move its a 24 spline my 87 was built in october so I guess that makes it an 87 n 3/4 lol

i would convert to 4 lug, ltz 400 pattern is the same as most hondas and most newer suzukis, very easy to find new/used wheels.

So if I wanted to run those Rocky Mountain ATV Tusk rear hub extenders on my 88 I would just buy them for a Z400?  I am debating doing that or just buying new Douglas 5 lug wheels.
For a 26 spline axle the z400 hubs fit.

Just count the splines.
Not all 87's had the 24 splines, some had 26 splines.
26 spline is LTR/LTZ territory, so there's a ton of aftermarket wheels that fit those bolt patterns too.

85-87 1/2 lt250r have 24 spline.  i used to put a set of 87 lt hubs on my buddies banshee so he could run my mud tires.  he had a 98

 Hi^ hi

yea yamaha or whatever 24 spline 4 by 115mm hubs do fit. the rest of the bashee hubs on the 35mm rear axle could never fit because the lt has 40mm stock axle diameter.

Im still curious if suzuki yamaha and honda chainlines are the same. that concerns the width of the carrier and the the sprocket and brake hubs respectively. If the carrier is the same width and the chain line is the same then theoretically you could pic up bearings with a 1/4(5mm) smaller ID and use a 35mm honda or yamaha rear axle setup.

I think that covers it, im a little pissy today i apoligize if it seems blunt or whatever, im just trying to get to the bottom of this.

here is a pic of a banshee hub on a 24 spline lt250r axle. ive heard of the swap so i though i would post a pic so it can be used as proof of the swap. also, i dont have a pic but those hubs have been used on my honda 200x when i borrow some paddles that were a yamaha pattern. also, many honda atvs use a 24 spline except to 85/86 250r atc and the trx 250r so honda trx 400ex and 450r will work which are common hubs that are on ebay all the time.
