I wouldn't do any welding to the gears as this would affect the temper of the steel.

Thanks guys!! I looking to have them welded an re cut. If one gear is bad all might be bad so I'm doing the whole trans as of now.

It's typical. You need the gears either replaced or the dogs re-cut. Hit up Greg Whittaker at W-C-R.

87 lt500 great condition. Runs good won't stay in second gear. I can launch out of first hit second
Pull then it slips into neutral. Something is wrong with second gear no visible
Damage to trans. Any help would be great.
