Good to hear ya got it figured out.

Well guys a feel like an idiot. I forgot to mention the day I was working on it I drove from Tennessee after a long weekend. That being said I took a few days away from the 250 to relax and think it over. Got home today and realized when I installed tge exhaust I had unplugged one of the wires from the coil. Just goes to show you need a clear mind and and patience to not overlook the little things. Thanks for all your help.

You mean run a wire from the head itself to the.frame?
Yep,use a fairly heavy gauge wire to a good clean ground location on the frame and then a nut and bolt through the head stay to hold the other end.

May want to try running a ground wire from the head stay part of the head to the frame and see what happens.I found the head stay is a much better ground than the front mounts to engine.
-
No sir mine doesn't have them
-
Mine would spark periodically.Even fired up initially then died and would have weak/no spark. Not saying that's your problem for sure but something to check.Do you run the head stay mounts?

Thanks fellas. Yes I had previously took the engine out to rebuild the top end well I sent the jug to a guy who destroyed it. But before all that I completely repainted the frame reinstalled the engine and had a heck of a spark. On the painted frame. Now the engine was leaking around the head and had no compression. I took the engine back out. Had to buy another jug cause the previous one was destroyed, took to a reputable machine shop. Got it all fixed. Engine is ready. Heres the crazy part. Reinstalled the engine just like the time before ( mind you I changed nothing) and now I have no spark. If it was a grounding issue why did it fire before and not now.

x2 on what rainman said i ground down the p/c to bare steel where my ground wire hits frame
-
Make sure the mount to engine contact points are clean as its the ground path.Had the same issue with my 500 when I PC,d the mounting brackets.Had to buff them down to bare metal at the contact points.

Check that all your ground wires are on steel. And all the bullet connectors are pushed all the way in. I take it you checked for spark after you put motor back in and now you have no spark. Correct? Was motor completely out of frame?
