Clean you fuel pick up screens, run your modified valve on both pick ups, make sure the hoses are big enough and not kinked and that you've got a big enough float valve (I run a 3.5) and you should be fine.

I thought since I already have the port why not it's cheap insurance I've ran the the bowl dry on an bored tm38 I haven't ran the vm44 so I don't know if it'll do the same
If you run the bowl dry on a bored out TM38 or bored out VM44 you are having a fuel supply problem from the tank or you have the wrong size float valve seat. If you are having a fuel supply problem from the tank you will still have a fuel supply problem from the tank when running a fuel pump.
Keep it simple, fix the basic problems and avoid the fuel pump! The fuel pump is just one more thing that can burn up your engine if it is not always up to par.

Pingel valves are nice. I wouldn't mind having one on my dune shooter. But a fuel pump is not necessary with a VM-44 on race gas. The important thing to remember is to use a good gas cap vent hose & not one of those billet machined blingy vent caps.

Yes and it helped but it still wasn't enough I am going to put a pingel valve on and see if that helps

Do you have your petcock modified?

Why do you need a fuel pump to run a vm44? I know a few guys on here are running that carb and I'm pretty sure none of them run a pump.

Im finally getting the zilla back together and I'm wanting to use a vm44 with a fuel pump. I'm going to be running race gas. I already have a port in the side of my jug from when I ran alky but I don't remember what pump i used before. i'm wondering what size pump and needle and seat to use? I'm running a very aggressive dune port and Aaen pipe
