The kx rod & flat top piston was used by HPR iirc

Yes I realize more is involved then just a different rod. I have read that different rods such as a cr500 could be used but I can't find much further info then that. Why does the Zilla engine have such bad rod angle? Sorry don't mind me I'm trying to learn here.

I'm brain storming a build...

rm 500 piston sizes from 88.5 to 92mm and has a 3mm lower pin height the problem with this piston is finding them Rick horvat had some made and did have some but that was some time ago

Id skip out on stroking it. Id go with stock bore and good port pipe combo. Tons of power can be had at stock bore.... They already have huge stroke, they have more stroke then the 700raptor

A longer rod will only make the piston be farther from the crank.  That's not how a engine is "stroked."

Not many people stroke zilla's due to the bad rod angle they have.  I believe the Roid zilla was only stroked a few mm and just bored to the studs.  I'm sure Jerry could chime in and give technical's.

I did hear, a long time ago, that the CR500 rods helped but never got any confirmation.

You do know that rod length doesn't mean longer stroke.

I have a 87 cylinder that needs a sleeve. figured might as well go BIG. 89.5mm is the last piston size Wiseco list. which comes out to 541cc with a stock stroke of 86mm. are there pistons available beyond 89.5?

what is involved in stroking? how long of a rod? and where can this rod be had?
