I don e that to mine. I bought new one off ebay. I just held it straight and went up a size to needle fit proper

Thank you for the info Jerry. I was unsure if there would be any other issues with drilling the hole out. will bring the slide to work with me tomorrow and chuck it in the mill and drill it out bigger. +k2

We just drill the needle hole to fit the 6DK3 needle. If you drill the slide use a mill or drill press that is "squared up" so that the needle does not bind up in the needle jet.
-
The new slide has a different sized hole for the needle. So the 6dk3 won't fit. After working on it this morning I swapped in the original slide and 6dk3 needle and I am back to a healthy running zilla.

Are the needles still available? Jason yuhuza32 would know

This might help. Although I don't see a 6DK3 listed or 6FJ41 either.

This link lists the 6FJ41 but not the 6DK3.

Well it's been awhile since I've been on. I just bought a new TM38 for the 500 and was swapping jets into it and checking my settings. The new carb came with a 6FJ41 needle. Does anyone have specs of the stock 6DK3 and what would be a similar needle for the new carb? Or should I just run it and try and tune it with this needle? If it helps I have an '88 small reed with a K&N and an FMF pipe... for now. Get a bonus today and may be looking for a new pipe.
