i have a terry cable and thumb thrtl with my lectron, but that thrtl was way to long,
now i have a stock thumb thrtl on it, i am gonna order 90 this week coming up. then i will have to see hom long of a cable i will need, or if one of mine will work with it. thanks for all the help guys.
-
Don't forget Terrycable they also carry custom and oem style cables. Just throwing that out the as another option if motion pro doesn't carry what u need
-
What throttle are you using? The Honda throttle that was on my hybrid wouldn't open a VM44 all the way without modding it.
-
i used a stock cable but had very little ajustment + I had to mod the stock thumb throtle
i didnt use a 90 on my hybird
-
If/when you install the elbow you'll need a different cable or just make a stock one longer by trimming some coils off the metal sheath.
-
did i need to get the 45 or the 90, and will a stock oem cable work on this, or do i need to call motion pro for a new one.
it looks like the cable part might come up short when i install that part.

well you was wrong moto, mikes billet intake is same size as stock, its the v2 reeds and tudors spacer plate that is the problem.
i will be putting stock reeds with a twist on it after i break it in. i even tried to fit a 48 lectron on it and no go. but i still need to
turn top of shock 180 deg, and see how that will work.
I think the difference between the billet intake and the OE is the carb slides inside the OE where it connects via hose to the end of the billet.Does that not make the carb sit back a tad farther?I can,t remember without looking, just curious and something to think about.
-
i actually called mike about the intake pushing the carb back. he said it does and to grind some off of the end. im using V2 reeds on an 88 zilla. No spacer. 48 lectron. stock intake snorkel, sblt500r airbox delete. and the air filter bracket has broken twice. just saying.
-
Man thanks for doing this, I'm gonna try this out once I find the parts

BRACKET RACING IS NOT REAL DRAG RACING DAMMIT!!!!! BUNCH OF WISSES IF YOU WANT THE CROWN TO BE BASED OFF IF YOU CAN STAY IN YOUR TIME. A BONE STOCK 85 WOULD BEAT ALL THE NASTYS.
I agree,bracket sucks imo.

I like brackets idea!! Then it's not a " I won one race last year and got this"
-
Everyone better bracket race then and hope someone "breaks out".lol
-
The billet intake will push the carb back farther than the rubber boot.
Everyone should use the 34mm 250 carb in the crown race. Those are allowed lol.
Whats next restrictor plates?
This is a drag race not a left turns race!!!

You must not know how the rules go buck the only legal parts that can be used are the ones on the crown holders machine!! Lol
-
Only other person I know running a VM uses the stock boot stretched to fit. And how is a VM not aloud in the crown race? It's not like it's an alky carb...
-
this is for my woods beater..
-
vms are not aloud in crown race xT@
-
I just messaged a guy on my Facebook group to see how he's running his vm44.
-
You have a spare reed boot you could boil and stretch to try out and see if it makes it easier then the billet intake?
-
i dont know about all that now, this bike has been 3 or 4 years in the building. and this is it
i am gonna ride the **** out of it this year, to many new parts that need to be used on it.
i might just go down to the 42mm carb if this starts to be a pain in the butt. but Bret told me the
billet intake might be my problem, its pushing the carb back to far and its hitting my shock.
going out to garage in a few to try again,
-
Contact metal tech about installing the same linkage system as Dale frys, it allows for it iirc
-
i am having trouble getting mine to fit in my zilla. i have elkas all the way around and the carb will not go pass the hoes on shock, the fuel intake and slide screw are right up against it. any help would be great,
can i put shock hose on the inside, not sure if it will let the rezy mount the same way tho.
