One is a quadracer and the other isn't _^_

The height wasn't an issue (I had 22's in front and 20's in the rear on the LTR like the Z)... it was more the width. The Z just felt better in tight technical rocky stuff too... All my buddies call it ol' reliable. It just never seems to let me down. I always say I'm gonna sell it, but it's just too good a solid bike that can do it all... not the fastest bike in a straight line, but I'm right on the ass of the 450's in the woods w/o a problem...
And Thanks Dez!

i like all the points that u are making Tony, it is making me think it through a bit more the z 's seem to be a lot easier to find for the price i want to spend .also some of the trails i ride are also tight and rocky so the extra height on the z may be beneficial .thanks guys !

Thanks... A guy on suzuki central that makes custom kits... Pretty much anything you can think of.....
I love my z.... It's been the most reliable bike I've owned. Never an issue. I had an ltr.... Also awesome bike! Super fast, great handling machine. Loved it. The z is just a better bike for the trails I use it in.... If I always rode more wide open trails, and fire roads, it would be the ltr. But for tight trails, the z is great for me. It is also bullet proof and requires little maintenance..... Just my thoughts.... The reverse is nice in the woods too....

i am aiming for a ltr but i just see so many damn ltz's i figured i would ask the r is much nicer looking looks more aggressive and i do like to ride rough so it seems the r is more suitable for me , thanks for the info guys.

You guys forgot that LTR is cool, the z400 isn't.

There are too many variables for a specific answer. It depends on what year of a Z400 you are speaking about because there are differences between the early years and the middle years and the current years of the Z400. The LTR450 was basically the same from conception to its end in 2009 with a few engine upgrades in the 2008 and 2009 model. Basically, to answer your question at its simplest, the Z400 is a great all around quad for recreational riders. The better years are 2005 and up; the 2009+ years now have fuel injection. The 450 is more of a race style bike and is designed to suit motocross or more aggressive riders.

Chassis width weight ground clearance suspension geometry power output. So pretty much everything lol the ltr sits lower is wider thus more stable has better factory suspension components and geometry and is faster. The ltz400 has reverse.

My mistake ltz400

There is a LTZ450?
