Diagram of the clutch
-
Never hear is squeal!!! but you would go to pull the clutch and it felt like you where trying to squeeze blood from a turnip (hard as hell if not impossible)
-
I don't think it's that common but it does happen from time to time... My 250 had that same problem, under power it made this god offal squeal noise, first thought it was my water pump.
-
Ya that's a really. Common mistake. You welcome.
-
Thank you for the info Iceracer. See thats the other reason i thought I better post something and get advise. I couldnt find a decent instructions that explain how to change the clutch on the Lt500..... +k2

You put it together like that and it won't look that way for long the bearing is on the plunger backwards. Rollers to the steel side smooth side to the pressure plate. That's why the first one is shot.

bearing
-
And this is what IT should look like!!!!
-
See something wrong??? I DO.....stupid bearing LOL
-
Gotcha yeah, kinda figured that after I pulled it all apart but Ill post some pics of what I found also.....It was not so good!!!
-
its supposed to do that. the slack is taken out when you put on the cover and the rack engages the pinion. the pinion will pull the rack out to dissengage the clutch
-
All of them do that.

SO I finally decided to start messing with the 87' and 88' Zilla's I have. the 88 I picked up for $500, and the 87' was given to me by a friend with a frozen motor/basket case.
The 88 i got so cheap cause the guys said he thinks 1st and 2nd where gone, but all my testing (and knowledge I pulled from here and you tube) i tracked it down to being a clutch issue actually. Here is what I found
