Thanks everyone for the input , before it was very unclear but now i understand .Its great to be able to ask a question and have so many knowledgeable people to explain how things work and in a way that is understandable!
until the next question . thanks again

A rim with a rolled lip is definitely the way to go for XC, trail riding, etc. (unless you want to spend the $$ on bead locks or reinforced wheels). Even the heavy duty .190's that aren't rolled will ding easy. Also when buying rims the first number is the amount of back spacing, so a 3.0 + 5.0 will have an offset of 3" on the inside and 5" on the outside.

Just my opinion from limping back to the pits during XC races Years ago. Never had a issue with the oem type wheels and the new A5 are almost as light as the blue and stronger than the Red. But Its moot point if you run oem hubs
-
I havent had any problems out of my reds yet.
-
I would never buy another set of red, blue or black label wheels except for sand. un fortunately if your sticking with oem pattern hubs you don't have a choice. swap to a newer hub and a A4 series wheel or Itp T9 there rolled edge wheels and way more durable.

If you ride anywhere ruff I would get red labels. Blue are to thin and bend.
-
the 3.0 + 5 is the center of the rim, back spacing. so what ever numbers are it is from center of rim to bead edge
3in outside and 5in on the inside. = 8in rim .
-
what would the numbers after 10x8 mean like 3.0+5.0 . i have ordered rear tires and i was going to stay with the rims i have now but it seems that they are relatively cheep , if i get douglas rims i should get red label ?
thanks guys for the help!
-
That is correct 8)
-
10x8 I believe....

if i have stock rear hubs on my lt 250 and my tire size is 20x11x10 what size would my rims be any help is appreciated thanks mike
