Are there any perferd gearing when dynoing with the 18'' tires

Just because it is tuned on the dyno doesn't mean it is tuned for real world. Lots of factors. A dyno can only give a baseline and show the difference jetting and other mods will do. It is great to give a very close jetting number if the dyno using a wide band. But you will still need to rejet for temp and other environmental factors.

yep thats my plan to get this thing tuned befor the big race lol My bike is basicly a bunch of parts i though togther i want to see where its at And comepare these 3 pipes i got to see what works best out of a q pipe , custom shear pipe, and my LTM1 pipe

those are fmf fatties.
did try shearers, but fmfs were better for my setup.

Are those shearer pipes with fmf silencers zillafreak? And we should stop by this dyno on the way to silver lake and dial our bikes in.

If the dyno doesnt have a load cell or brake than your going to have to regear the quad to load the motor. 2 stroke will only make power if its loaded.

This is a LT500R with a custom shearer/q pipe, stock carb, cut head, mx ported, boyeson reed.

This is a banshee with fmf, trail port, cut head, vf2, single 38mm pwk carb, +4 timing

Notice the a/f curve, see if the guy has that, and use it. They are worth it for tuning. Also need to make sure the guy knows how to read the curve.

Usually the dyno person has tires. You know what kind of dyno it is? The guy I go to, you need to be able to turn 75mph as it is the way to load up the motor up.

I wounldnt have thought of the gloves Lol I was just thinking I got a set of golf cart tires how do u think they would work 18x9x8

Tips
Make sure tires are balanced.
Strap it down good, usually want to strap it down by the carrier and not the grab bar.
Have everything you will need with you, a tool box with the tools to take the carb off and apart, too take off any other parts you plan on, and many jets.
Invest in some Slicks (Smoothes) run on light weight rims 0.125"wall 10" ok, 8 " is even better, these will help get the best graphs from the dyno.

No I dont know anyone thats used them. I was going to give them a call. Let me know how it turns out if you use them.

For best results you will want smooth type tires. Dyno time is expensive when your wrenching doing pipe exchanges. Bring a good mechanic friends to help. Bring good gloves as the pipes were alittle warm on the hands. Take vids & pics cause everyone would like to see your efforts. (Y)

i think you want some flat track tires, and make sure you got the jetting right. changing jets can add up when your on the clock, and have the right tools with you

Any pointers Im going to test a couple pipes i got and tune this thing Does differnt tires afect results

When Mitch & the fisherman put together the dyno testing it wasn't cheap. It was in that neighborhood $$$ for the same amount of time.

I would think so. But ive only been to a dyno once.

i found a place not to far from me that dynos Is 400 a bad deal for a half a day
