Hard part is finding the right o ring (Not something on the oem part list). I took mine apart on my LT500 and should have brought the o ring to the hardware store and gotten a spare while I had it apart

yes to phillips screws hold it to tank, it has a o-ring gasket that sets inside it, very simple.
if you take the small phillips screw out this will let you get inside petcock, take o-ring out
and put a new one in. again very easy to do.

When I turn it from off to on it will drip a little fuel right out of the knob/lever that you turn. Also if you mess with it it will drip a little fuel, nothing crazy but just a drop or two. Is there a way to fix this petcock (like rebuild it or something) or is it just something that will need to be replaced as a whole?

Also is it just the two screws and a gasket that hold it to the tank? I've never actually changed one of these before.
