Worn out clutch basket, clutches or bearing.
Usually, the clutch basket fingers wear, causing notches.

I was told mine is just weak clutch dampner springs. Yours sounds like it's in the top end.

Post by: Jsmitty42 on December 31, 2013, 12:39:28 am: ok when i start my lt250r at idle it rattle and ive heard its normal and all but it drives me **** nuts what can i do to fix it does anyone know i did notice when i rebuilt it that at the bottem of the crank rod it moved side to side not very much but could that be it ?
