Cool deal!!! Glad it got figured out!
Are they really needed?
I think I might have the one on my rear brake but that's it, my front brakes don't have them cause I couldn't find any and the bike didn't have them when I got it

It was fresh in my mind. I was rebuilding and cleaning my calipers tonight, so i knew what was going on

tell you what chuckie i was about to through the springs out but zillicious was right they were upside down i thought i had them right when i first installed them , the four little tabs all hit backing plate of pad and it just looked right but it did not mount up to the bike thanks guys for taking the time to help me out .this is a great sight and a lot of knowledge floating around !

It's upside down. They are there to keep the pads from making noise and moving around.

I never use the spring things. They are always a hassle IMO and I have no idea what they are supposed to do

installed inner front pad installed spring then outer pad on slide pins went to install and could not bolt up break springs were hitting break disk ,did i install
incorrectly seamed like everything was in place the four little tabs were hitting against inner pad backing plate holding it in place and outer part of spring is in middle in the channel ,any thoughts?
