Ive done this many times. Thing is its way easier to call cometic and order a dozen

So after I tore my brand new base gasket I really didn't feel like waiting for a new one to arrive. Instead I went to autozone and picked up some gasket material for $6 and found a template from an original gasket that a user from e2s was kind enough to scan and share. You will find it uploaded below. The material itself is enough to make 4 gaskets.
I took an exacto knife and after tracing the printed template I had my gasket. I applied a very thin layer of Threebond to the surface on the engine and installed the gasket and cylinder after a minute. Pressure test showed very fine foam forming around the gasket, even thought pressure didn't budge from 5psi for a few minutes. Next time I'll apply threebond to both sides. After break in is done, I'll do another pressure test to see how it's holding up.
