We have always bought the passes online and never have gotten CA stickers. We are all from Wisconsin or Minnesota so we should be ok.
But we did learn one year that you don't even back your wheeler out of the trailer without a helmet or you can get a ticket!

OldManOn89Zilla, it looks like you are out classing your riding mates!! Have a good time!

Good looking out, Glamisrider.
As I understand it, if you have a current OHV registration sticker from your home state, you do not need the CA sticker.

A non-resident with an OHV from one of these states must purchase the California Nonresident OHV Use Permit to operate on California's public lands.

A non-resident from the remaining 34 states need not purchase California's permit as long as they can provide valid proof that they have a current registration or their home state's equivalent for their OHV. If a nonresident cannot provide valid proof of possessing such a document, they must purchase the California Nonresident OHV Use Permit.   (15)

We always have to buy them because KS does not issue OHV stickers.

The store did not have the OHV stickers the past two years we have been there. Sweet Marie's does have them.

Just a heads up you guys are going to all have to buy out of state passes unless you want to risk getting ticketed.  You're going out on an off weekend so there will very few LEOs but  there is always a chance.

You can get a CA out of state OHV pass for $35 at the store or at sweet Maries on the corner of Gecko & Hwy 78.

We'd have room for a couple more of the right people  (Y)
You'd have to be able to get your wheeler to the Stillwater, MN area a week prior.
One guy is driving everything down and the rest fly into Phoenix.
PM me for details.

Doing our 4th annual Glamis trip. This year we hope to have 8-10 of us coming from Wisconsin/Minnesota.
We camp at the end of Road Runner.
If anyone is out there during this time stop in and give us a shout!
We will have a 34' car hauler trailer.
This will be my 1st year with the 89 LT500 or any 2 stroke for that matter.
The wives and kids are left at home!  +k2
