Busco Beach in North Carolina.  Not local for me but then.. Nothing is.  About 2300 acres, trails, mx, 100 yard strip. Pretty good all around riding unless your into hills.  Also cheap as dirt.  Ill be there sept 6-8th if anybody lives in the vicinity.  Finally taking the zilla for a real weekend ride!

Douglas County WI! Excellent riding my friends. There is nothing like it. Breath taking scenery, awesome trails, good food and drink. The Wild Rivers State Trail is one of WI finest. Over 100 miles in the summer and 300 miles in the winter. Bring a sled too. Go fishing, camping, have a cocktail.http://www.douglascountywi.org/index.aspx?NID=604 the soo line in Minnesota is AWESOME too!! Check it out.

hello,, if you are out in riverside. there is a 10 square mile area for riding thats always under construction jumps trails and cross country riding for various levels. pretty close to milestone in the riverside area. i ride it almost everyday. its never seen more than a handful of riders at most.
its off mission blvd. and La Rue street just over the railroad tracks once you get over the bridge that goes over the 60 freeway. you can park to the right of la rue street and boom, the trail is right there and takes you all the back to where the tracks and trails are.

Sand:
-Kermit dunes
You have the option of paying for a campsite and optional RV hookups (http://www.kermitdunes.com/) or camping at the free parking areas with no hookups or utilities.
There's various small dune fields all over the west Texas area, some publicly accessible, others require permission (that means you have the dunes all to yourself...all of it virgin sand).

-El Paso has some dunes, not big but it's closer to the Glamis scene, mostly lots of baja/desert XC trails out there.
-New Mexico has some small dunes as well.

Not sand:
Pecos river trails (lots of open space, bring some spare fuel on your rack), 3 moderately sized salt flats south of me, one really big one west of me.
Outback adventure track in Stanton TX (http://outbackadventuretrack.webs.com/)

About the only thing worth taking a trip out here for is the Kermit dunes and maybe the salt flats near Dell City for speed runs.
Not worth taking a trip specifically for anything else unless you live in TX/NM...
