well I put it back together doing nothing different and it starts and runs perfect. it will start in two kicks and we'll isle perfectly. don't know what happened the first time but it's all good now and planning on going out this weekend. it's been over a year since my wife ride hee lt250r since the baby so we are excited.

picture of what.I already checked the cylinder and it's perfect. it has.003 clearance over the piston. the rings came out of the grooves with my finger nail. blew the piston off with air and now the rings go in and move like they should.

Post up a picture let see why it happened.

Are the 86 lt250r a good reliable quad or ids the motor just junk? the reason I ask is because I just rebuilt my wife's with fresh bore, wiseco piston kit and the thrust washer and bearing kit from the store here and it ran for about 10 seconds then quit.I pulled the cylinder and the rings were such in the grooves with the ring gap closed so it didn't have any compression.I have had more problems with this quad than any other one I've worked on.
