BFuss, maybe you can get Roy to send you some of the pics he took from the ride to upload here?
PCS had bike troubles so he never got to leave town.
I had a blast out there. After playing with the pressure in my rear Shaw, I'm pretty happy with it now. I'm excited now to start the rebuild process of my 87 Zilla now. This one will be my dedicated dune bike. I also wanted to thank Fred for letting me crash out on the spare bed in his toy hauler. Also a big thanks to Dwilkins for the dune pass. Mitch, the shirts look incredible but you gotta come out & play next time. This is what it's all about!
Brain you don't know how Freaking frustrating it is to have these toys and not go riding, either for health reasons, or work reasons, geez I miss those days, my life is changing for the better should be out soon with Jr and my Brother very soon, Think Ill have to do a Pismo trip in April.

Just pay it forward and help someone else if you can.

After a call to Bret as I was leaving town, I made it and immediately seen a lt250 being towed in to camp at the end of roadrunner. The guy on the lt250 waved hello. Musta been a sign of things to come. The girlfriend wanted to stay in the truck out of the wind, so I hopped on the Zilla to try to find anyone from the site. Cruising around I found two camps with afew suzukis, I'd stop and say hello and ask if Bill was around. Getting confused looks I'd ask are you guys from the site? More confused looks I said sorry wrong people DOH!! And I would take off again. So I had some fun playing desert racer going down to the drag strip & back hoping to run into someone anyone whom might be apart of the site. Then I squeeked the piston & coasted to a stop, in front of what turned out to be very cool people. I used my cell phone to call my gf to come get me. And then I kinda hid behind my wounded machine embarrassed that I had blasted by there earlier a couple times.... Then a kid walks up to me carrying three drinks- a water a soda and a beer. I took the water and gulped it down noticing there were eyes on me. The gf shows up on the ltr450 and I get the tow tie down dialed in and then ..... The frigging 450 refused to fire!!! So I wait hoping the battery will catch up .. Hoping and hoping.... Then that same kid and his dad walk up with a battery booster! Man what luck! I pull the gf with the now running 450 and make it back safe & relieved. The gf sayz god must have been looking out for me. I went back with some cash to repay the good deed that was bestowed upon me but since the wind was blasting no one was there. I did say a little prayer saying thanks for not making me endure the wind and embarrassment of my misfortune, and give that cool family good luck in the future..

I was one of them that had bike trouble. Had the pickup coil go out. Got it swapped thanks to B_fuss! Then the head gasket gave and I smoked some coolant. I did record quite a bit of video on my helmet camera. Still working on getting it sorted out and ready to upload. Looks like some of the files may have corrupted; I had the wrong class of micro sd card.

(pg) --> (pg)
-
no I left my go pro at home, oops.
-
So, no pics? Bfuss, no videos?
-
dont forget the 370 honda that was leaking coolant into the cylinder and steaming out the exhaust
-
Feel Bad for all that went, Blown Engines, Tranny locked up, head gasket failing, wind blowing like SOB, good news I am down another 3 lbs
-
Buck I'll save it for you when you get here to ride!
Does race gas leave a bad after taste using it on the barbie? YES!
-
Dez send me a 5 gallon can! All my Sunoco 112 from last fall is bad! Lol
-
Yup I braved the whirl winds and seized the top end. I didn't want sand in my BBQ so I bailed out to go watch the supercross that was taped at home. Now I gotta burn 15 gal of vp 110 somehow
-
yeah and a few guys had major problems with there bikes.
-
Did this ride happen?
-
Sorry to hear that Mitch, get that stuff under control and feel better.
I think us midwest guys should try to plan a glamis caravan next year. Even the east coasters. Who wants to try? Anyone got access to a semi?
-
I contributed to this too...
Sorry man... No more booze as a gift what the hell was I thinking
-
Can I say, told you so.
Really get heathly.
-
no more super size diet pops or fast food either. hope you get that under control
-
Mitch, a Paramedic at my station is diabetic. His MD told him to quit with the beer so my buddy told him to go get bent. The Doc then told him to then switch to Bud Select 55. This along with proper dieting & exercise is making a huge difference in his quality of life. Moral of the story is Diabetes is treatable. Don't let it keep you down.
-
I had four heart attacks driving home from your b day party after eating those smoked BBQ pork sandwiches so I'm good.... Good idea having a emt nearby!
-
Mitch, I know a good EMT that will be there at Glamis. Just sayin
-
Well I went to the doctor on Tues to get the thumps up for the March trip next week, I have diabetes and have been dealing with leg blood circulation problems that are causing issues and requiring daily care of my leg ulcers (Painfull as hell) and will be hard to take care of in Glamis and wear riding gear at this time.
My blood sugar is getting better, doctor says stay on the diet ( no carbs, No Booze or beer i'm dying here), and keep walking daily, I should be fine in a few more months.
You know I feel like crap about this, (Hearing it from Brent, Bill and the others) I spent a huge chunk of cash for this trip and was very excited, new a arms, shocks, pipe and silencer.
-
I'll check with Roy again to see if he can make it. Has anybody heard from Billyindex?
-
Thanks old man,
Wow don't everyone tell at once.
-
Have fun see you next January Bill.
-
I got the weekend lined up. Told a couple friends, they don't have quadracers tho....
Not to much chatter on this going on for sure
-
So..................
Pretty quiet about this trip. Not seeing too many people yelling they are for sure coming. I will be there, I know a couple guys are coming.
But really who all is in for this trip?
-
Sorry , the BLM caused me to change the description of the BBQ, again our taxes working hard for us again..........
-
Ill be leaving on that Sunday, no one else has to.

SUZUKI QUADRACER HQ GLAMMIS DUNE FEST MARCH 13 2014 - ROADRUNNER , BBQ Sat 15th from 12 - noon to 3 PM, L
so you will be there Thursday the 13th, BBQ on Saturday, and everyone leaves Sunday the 16th?
-
Since I just bought the 450 my wife won't let me spend any money on the 250, and I don't want to travel halfway across country with my 450 in the back of my van! That would take forever and be expensive. I like to travel light.
-
Let's say I could drive or fly out there this spring, are there places to rent any LT's? If I come all the way out there, if I get to jump a Zilla in the desert with you guys, I can check it off my bucket list! Problem is I have no Zilla and don't know anyone with a Zilla that's going who has an extra one I could ride. Hint Hint!

Bring your 250! Those are pretty fun too!

MARCH 13 2014 - ROADRUNNER , BBQ Sat 15th from 12 - noon to 3 PM
I missed a few of these due to health issues, I am doing great and my Doctor gave me the thumbs up for me to do this, we will have a 32 ft trailer at the campsite to find us, and any one, any make of quad, and any engine build is welcome, The BBQ is to thank you for supporting the SQHQ forum, hoping it wont be too warm, should be close to a full moon that weekend, and the dunes are right next to roadrunner, FYI gets to warm we have the canal.
