I run a Z400 master with the stock Z lever. It's pretty nice.
Definitely gotta upgrade to newer/stainless braided lines though because the stock lines will balloon.
-
I run an ltr master with asv levers and love the look at feel. Highly recommend.

Good point. When you get the master cylinder make sure to get the banjo bolt and cylinder cover and screws and not just a bare master cylinder.

Asr levers! Giggity! Yeah thats one reason for the swap. I got about 20 hrs ride time on the zilla so far and i just gotta keep tinkering. I have been doing all the relabilty stuff first, then comfort and handling/ braking. Its sooo hard to not drop the $ ive saved on a pipe just yet. Once i get the brakes and suspension sorted out, my carb, flywheel and head are going out to jerry in the next couple weeks.

Just note to check the Thread Pitch on the Banjo bolt, they are not the same as the LT500, but now you can get some fancy AVS levers.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess ill look for whatever i can find the best deal on. So far $24-35 seems to be the going rate for these things.

The brakes are sourced third party from the manufacturers. Ie. the Honda is the same as Suzuki , aside for maybe cosmetics or etc. so don't limit your search to a z400 or ltr450. A Honda 450r one will work too

Anyone have one for sale?
-
The LTR lever is adjustable, the Z400 is not unless it's a 09+...
-
No difference you can feel. I have a spare LTR front master cylinder and I've used it on a 400ex, 250r, 200x, Tri-Z, and an r6. No real difference imo as far as atvs are concerned. Aren't they both from Nissin on the LTR and LTZ, same as in many Honda quads?

Im looking to upgrade my front MC. I know some people have done the Z400 swap, and I think some have done an LTR swap. Is there any real difference performance wise between the two? I believe you also have to use the Z or LTR banjo bolt for either swap, Thanks
