Yup Rainman, already bolted up and sesled. Hoping to get out this next weekend and give it a whirl. If it outruns My built LTR it will be considered fine.

Almost makes sense, From some digging on the net it appears the reed cage from the rm465 is also the same as the 87' LT250R

reeds for the 87 LT250 : http://boyesen.com/power-reeds-14.html Model #615 Reeds are same part number for both models. They didnt run the stuffers on that model at all. Looks to be all same parts. The LT250 intake when held up in comparison the the 465 intake is smaller everywhere, massive restriction. IDK, guess ill let you guys know how it all works.

From what I,ve been told you don,t want the air to have more than something like a 15 degree angle coming out of the boot or it creates turbulence.How much of a difference it makes I,m not sure,sure one of the builders will chime in.Like others said if you use a V-2 setup the "wings" have to come off anyway.

Strange. The manifold on my 82 RM465 doesn't have the stuffers, and it's the original.

on some different reed cages the stuffers help the flow of the air, now on the v force reeds they will not fit.
the new v3 come with a stuffer to use

I decided to post this in the "general" area because it works on both the 250 and 500 for 1987. Just got the new intake a few days ago. Finally getting to it. Someone in a previous thread mentioned something about "reed stuffers" when using the rm465 intake. Here are a couple of pics, From what i gather it is the batwing looking parts hanging off of the factory intake boot. From the looks of it it would impede the flow of air/fuel mix going into the cylinder. Maybe some one that knows a bit more about this setup could chime in. I am going to put it together without cutting and installing the batwings into the cage. Just seems as it would restrict the fuel/air mixture. ???? am i crazy???
