Ok cool. It was the clicker at the top that I was surprised about. That seems to be rebound, and the knob compression. I like my rebound clicker set at 1. My shock that came on my 88 only has preload and compression, no rebound, the one Im running came on my 87.

Both of my stock rear shocks are adjustable in 3-spots. The nut under the shock, the knob on the rezi and the 5 position clicker at the top

I did the same as crash lander, except I didn't have it re-sprung. I'm about 190lb, got my spring cranked up. My stock shock is the only One I've noticed around on an LT that is 3-way adjustable. I've really got it set where I want it. I have the stock shocks on front too, which are way too soft, so I pretty much wheelie into everything and let the rear shock eat it. I'm really pleased with my rear shock.

I just had my rear shock updated. New Race tech valve similar to the ones in the newer rear shocks and a new race tech spring to hold my weight. $350 for rebuild, revalve, and a respring isn't that bad.

That would be terrible ! well maybe if it was on the hill climber but that may work for the racer...  S~

91 the 85-90 is different though and cant run the z400 rear like your bike (assuming your forum name is still in play).
_^_ for the banshee/300ex shock on the older lt!

ive heard lots of guys say both, too stiff, just right.  feels good to me and only cost me $50 on ebay so it was a cheap quick replacement

That's why I thought. The Tecate guys put banshee and 300EX shocks in the 84/85 Tecate 3's. Same style rear suspension as our LT's. Any info about if one of those would work? Oct 27th is coming quick.....

Due to cushion lever linkage on 91 92  the 85 to 90 had the dog bone linkage

There running a z400 rear shock on 91 92 not the 85-90 like I wish we were easily able too.

Y'all are running the z400 shocks on the 91/92 suspension or the 87 suspension?

When I put z400 on mine it was too stiff to run and I was heavier at the time I tried it.

I say it would be perfect for someone heavier but it seems to work great for me.

I recently had my rear blow out.  replaced it with a shock from an 08 z400. had to grind alittle off the insides of the lower mount to get to fit but very little. makes the bike sit bout an inch higher in rear and is a little stiff but seems to work fine. had to adjust the preload really soft but rides good. im bout 175lbs or so, so would probably be perfect for someone alittle heavier

I'm around 150 pounds. 150-170 to be safe. Haven't weighed out in a few months lol

About 210lbs.  The shock is a little on the stiffer side.  It will be good when I finally get the +4 swinger put on.

I have a Works Black Widow shock on my hybrid.  I just had to make a bushing for one of the mounts, I forget which.

Ok. What rear shocks interchange to the rear? There's an XC race on October 27th and I'm mad dashing trying to get my bike at least half-azzed ready to be abused. But my back is almost as blown as my rear shock and I reeeaalllyyyyy don't want to have to race with a shock that isn't half as good as some RC shocks LOL

So are there any stock shocks from other bikes that swap over that would be at least a little better than my LT shock? Or does anyone have a good-enough shock they'd sell dirt cheap  [|] lol jk on that one but seriously. I needs a decent ish shock so help me out please someone?  <1>

Thanks y'all!  ;D
