Ok Rainman, Got it. Just took mine apart, verified, stock reed cage with some carbon fiber reeds, cant remember the brand. What is the deal with the wings? way back in the day when i put the boyesen reeds in my blaster they had you cut them off??? so are they needed with the rm465 intake??? Thanks so much for the input, don't really wanna go stock boot and stretch again.  Also emailed about the billet intake, It is beautiful, but out of the budget @ the moment.

I may have a 44mm billet intake for sale in about a month. Its for a 6 bolt intake.

Heres a pic of the intake boot.Think its off an 82 RM465.Think the 83 RM500 are the same.Fits 38-39mm carbs and likely be able to cram some bigger in too. This is for the 87 5 bolt only.

Just look for part number 13110-14210

I should add this boot doesn,t have the "wings" on the back side so if you run the stock cage might have to run a reed stuffer. One of the builders would likely know for sure. The V2 setup would be fine.Jerry sells a sweet V2 reed setup with spacer plate.

Thanks Rainman, Yup caught between a decision of a new oem intake for $78, or get a custom one. Buuuuut since you mentioned it, tell me a lil more about the rm465/500 boot. I am running a 38mm pwk.   D?

Can you pm me his contact info, i am in need of an intake for an 87 250 cyl to fit a 38mm. Thanks. Robb

A 38mm will fit in the stock boot.I run a 38mm lectron and it will fit in the stock boot with a little persuasion.I also have a new boot off a RM500/465 that bolts up to a bigger carb.Think its a tad big on a 38 but I,ll check.Would be cheaper than a billet one.

Like motoman is running a vm44 I'm not positive but I don't think the stock boot will fit it unless you bore out the rubber.

Still don,t see it fitting and even if you could find a way to cram it in ya just know its gonna crack.

sblt doesn,t list one but like you said I,m sure he could.Picked up a 44mm Lectron from badmoon I,ll eventually be putting on the 500 once I get finally put together so I,ll be in the market for one.Guess I could try posting in the wanted section?

It fits larger carbs Kyle and it can change the location of your carb by having it done on a different angle. The look alone is worth it IMO though.
